What is a CronJob?

The CronJob is a job control of Unix or Unix-like operating systems such as Linux, which can execute recurring tasks (cronjobs) at a certain time.

Often the cron daemon executes important programs for the maintenance of the system, e.g. services for the regular archiving and deletion of log files.
