Setting up your e-mail program: iPad
In this guide, you'll learn how to set up your email in the Apple iPad (POP3 and IMAP) and then retrieve it.
The instructions for setting up an SSL mailbox can be found under the following link:
Go to the menu item "Settings" in the start screen.
In the following menu, select "Mail, Contacts, Calendar".
On the right side select "Add Account".
and select the menu item "Other".
To start setting up the e-mail account, select "Add Mail Account".
In the following field you will find the items name, address, password and description.
In the Name field, enter what you want to be displayed as the name of the recipient of your emails.
In the Address field, enter your e-mail address and in the Password field, enter your personal password for the e-mail inbox.
Here your personal data must be indicated, which are already described.
Enter your e-mail login or the complete e-mail address (e.g. info@mustermann.in) as the user name.
POP or IMAP can be selected as the account type.
The data for incoming mail server and outgoing mail server are identical, both for the server, as well as the user name and password.
Tap on "Save" in the upper right corner to check or save the entered data.
Replace all fields with the information about your e-mail box.
You can also find this in your customer login under "E-mails -> Server information".
Now you get to the overview of your e-mail accounts which are set up on your iPad.
Select the mailbox that you set up in the previous steps and edit it.
Tap on "Save" in the upper right corner.
Then tap "Continue".
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Advanced.
Check the SSL settings here and change them as shown on the screenshot.
Now switch back to your mailbox settings and select the following under
Server for outgoing e-mails "SMTP".
Now select "Primary server".
There change the port to "587".
Your e-mail account on your iPad is now set up and can be used to sent and received by e-mails.
