With this guide, you can set up your email in the Apple iPad with SSL and then retrieve it.
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is used for the secure transmission of data via e-mail.
Go to the menu item "Settings" in the start screen.
In the following menu, select "Mail, Contacts, Calendar".
On the right side select "Add Account".
And select the menu item "Other".
To start setting up the e-mail account, select "Add Mail Account".
In the following field you will find the items name, address, password and description.
In the Name field, enter what you want to be displayed as the name of the recipient of your emails.
For the address, enter your e-mail address and for Password, enter your personal password.
for the respective e-mail box.
Here your personal data must be indicated, which are already described.
The user name can be found in your customer area below the "E-Mail-Postfach".
POP or IMAP can be selected as the account type.
The data for incoming mail server and outgoing mail server are identical, both for the server and the
also for the user name and password.
Tap on "Save" in the upper right corner to check or save the entered data.
Replace all fields with the information about your e-mail box.
You can also find this in your customer login under "E-mails -> Server information".
Now you get to the overview of your e-mail accounts which are set up on your iPad.
Select the mailbox that you set up in the previous steps and edit it.
Tap on "Save" in the upper right corner.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Advanced".
Check here the settings for SSL and change them as shown on the screenshot.
